Ben has always used the camera on his shoulder to get stuck in and tell stories across the globe. He has lived amongst tribes in the Amazon Rainforest, followed Japanese musicians perform in Iceland and shot with world class beatboxers in Taiwan.
His experience working as a self-shooting documentary director has shaped the aesthetic of his commercials, which balance a handheld, character focussed style with cinematic visuals. He has won campaigns with agencies such as BBH and The & Partnership to direct films for well known brands such as Next, Lexus and Ovo Energy.
Combining his background in writing, directing and cinematography, Ben conceived, shot and edited a short black comedy during lockdown. The film won the international Lockdown Film Festival, has been showcased online by both the BFI and the YDA, and is now being entered into festivals worldwide.
